The Moonee Valley Football Club is pleased to advise that the coaches for its senior men’s and women’s teams have been confirmed for the 2021 season.
Senior Men’s Coach Shanon Carroll will return for his fourth year at the helm with Reserves Coach Domenic Condello also signing on for another year.
Carroll has successfully led the men’s program since joining The Fog in 2018, coaching the side to a semi-final in his first year followed by a Grand Final appearance against the Sunbury Kangaroos in 2019.
Senior Women’s Coach Paul Edwards will also return in 2021 and will again be assisted by Brad Sammut and playing assistant Yasmin King.
Moonee Valley’s senior female football program continues to go from strength to strength since its inception in 2019, where the women gracefully bowed out of the finals following a single point defeat in the semi-final against Maribyrnong Park.
The Club was also set to field a women’s reserves side in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19 and will attempt to do the same in 2021.
MVFC President Jason Hellwig said, “The Club is thrilled to confirm its senior coaching line-up for the 2021 season and welcome back Shanon Carroll and Paul Edwards for another year as head coaches of our senior men’s and women’s programs.
“With so much uncertainty in 2020 due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Committee believed it was critical to provide our senior playing group with the early confirmation and commitment of the senior coaching staff so they could look ahead to the 2021 season.
“Both Shanon and Paul had done a wealth of work in terms of recruiting and player preparation prior to the season being called off, so it was important the Club provided them with the opportunity to continue their great work for next season which they have both gratefully accepted.
“I would like to thank Shanon, Paul, Domenic, Brad and Yasmin for their dedication to the Club and I can’t wait to see what they can achieve next year.”
