In the second edition of 'Super Sunday' the Club is pleased to announce the following six new players who have committed for season 2021.
MVFC Senior Coach Shanon Carroll said: "We are pleased to today announce six new players joining the Fog and I encourage everyone to make them feel welcome as we enter into an exciting chapter in our Club's history.
"Alex Gleeson is a very hard midfielder with exceptional skills and football brain. Alex (Alby) comes to the FOG via Hampton but prior to that has Captain/Coached at senior level and was also a very well respected captain at EDFL premier level in past years.
"Brett Thomas is a quality leader displaying the ability to read the play with lightening observation. Brett came to the FOG last season and was primed to display his silky skills through the midfield and across halfback but unfortunately sustained a nasty arm injury in a practice match.
"Justin Cluney is a tall running backman with excellent football knowledge and a clear on field leader with direction voice. Justin comes to the FOG via a season at Roxburgh Park and previous to that was a premiership player with the dominant Jacana side of 2017.
"At 6ft 4 with a strong mark Aarron McKenna has the ability to play in a number of positions. Aaron comes to the FOG via a season at Airport West and prior to that spending all his time at Port Colts FC. During our practice match earlier this year it was very clear that Aaron is going to be more than a handful for opposition clubs.
"Returning to the FOG after a short time at Tullamarine, Luke is a very handy left footer with the skill level to be a classy link up player. He clearly got himself fit enough to do so before season 2020 was cancelled and worked very hard on his field positioning during the 2020 preseason. Luke clearly has the ability to fast become an on field leader.
All clubs have that player or two that everyone loves and Eli or 'Big Easy' is definitely one of ours. After last playing with Coburg Districts a couple of years ago Eli found he had that itch to play again after watching partner Nadia Valenti (or The General) dominate in our women’s team. Being extremely disciplined with his training and displaying his abilty to be a dominant tap ruckman he very quickly commanded respect from not only his peers but all at the club."
